All the students and teaching staff in the international program participated in the first flag raising ceremony on 4th September. The national flag gently rose in the breeze, accompanied with the rhyme of the national anthem.
Maggie Wu made a speech in the ceremony. Firstly, she expressed her gratitude that the great accomplishment had been achieved in the past years. Among them, the visa applications for 48 students to go to Canada had been approved, which enabled them to live and study in Canada. The Grade 12 students in Australian program did a good job in Chinese as the First Language Examination last term.
Secondly, the new term is indicative of new look, new vision as well as new challenges to both students and teachers. All of them were welcomed to be a part of the program. Besides, the new students had the military training, in which they did well in following school rules with the positive attitudes, the symbolization of a good beginning.
Additionally, Maggie suggested that the students should set up their own goals, follow the rules, and work hard for their goals. She expected students to take actions right now. Also, the students were hoped to behave themselves well, with good manners. They should have their own schedule, finish the homework in time, and do not give up when facing tough challenges.
In the end, Maggie wished all the attendees were able to accomplish success through their own efforts in the future. We were inspired by the speech if we work together, nothing is impossible. Wish the international programme a better future.
